Friends exchange 217,000 texts in a month

Two friends in Central Pennsylvania have just been charged $26,000 on a phone bill in an attempt to set a text-messaging record, exchanging a thumbs-flying total of 217,000 during March. A woman in Detroit has possibly had her life saved by her bra, as it deflected a bullet fired at her during a break-in at a neighbor's home. The 57-year-old woman was shot in the chest after she spotted a group of men breaking into a neighbour's house on the west side of the city. World's biggest puzzle

More than 10,000 people have got together in Ravensburg to build the world's biggest puzzle.

Puzzle maker Ravensburger AG, who is celebrating its 125th anniversary of operation in the town, created the giant jigsaw with 1,141,800 pieces in only five hours.

Its total area was 600 square meters and nearly filled the Ravensburg town square.

The participants also assembled more than 4,000 smaller jigsaw puzzles, each with 252 pieces and standard puzzle motifs like animals, maps and landscapes.

A notary has submitted the result to the Guinness Book of World Records.

The current record for the largest puzzle is a 212,323-piece puzzle measuring some 35 feet by 38 feet (10.8 meters by 11.68 meters) in Singapore in 2002.
