Britain's Got Talent's Susan Boyle takes YouTube by storm

Posted by hitsu On 4/14/2009 06:53:00 PM

Susan Boyle’s Britain's Got Talent audition has been viewed over 1.5 million times on YouTube.

Last Saturday, the unassuming 47-year-old left Simon Cowell and his fellow Britain's Got Talent judges slack-jawed with her performance of Les Misérables hit I Dreamed A Dream.

"This is the biggest surprise I've seen in all three years of this show," said judge Piers Morgan.

Now, Boyle is the most unlikely example of why shows like this exist - to create overnight sensations and international success stories out of everyday folk.

In less than 48 hours, the video of her performance stormed YouTube, and fan sites sprung up across the web.

When The Sun told of her worldwide YouTube success, Susan said: "Over a million? That’s incredible, it’s just fantastic.

"I can’t believe all of this, but I suppose it will sink in eventually. I had no idea the show was a worldwide thing.

"I never dreamed of reaching that many people. I am very flattered."

As I sit at my computer, here in SE Indiana, I am moved to tears watching this woman sing. I hope and I pray for Susan as she will move into what God has given both her and all of us. Thank you Thank you Thank you Susan for having the guts to do what you have dreamed of doing. Maybe it will move more of us into doing the same. Best of dreams to you.

  2. Millie Said Said,

How fortunate we all are to have had a chance to hear this beautiful voice
and see this naturally charming person. What a pleasure.
I sure hope she makes a CD; I'll buy it and so will lots of other folks.
And, thank you to all the produces who put on these type of shows that give people opportunties they wouldn't have otherwise.

  3. Carol Said,

My family and I were sitting in office and viewed this excerpt of Brittians Got Talent and were just blown away by Susans voice. We all sat with our mouths opened, goose bumps and just in awe of how beautiful her voice is. I myself will be first in line to buy her first CD. I love talent shows and miss the old variety shows. This just proves that we need more shows like this to show off true and pure talent. To Susan the best of wishes for your dreams, you definately are worthy of them.
